Method ANCHOR

Commits beyond our own reach

The fingerprint is lodged with a party that has no stake in it, so the record can be checked later without trusting us.

ANCHOR batches digests into an epoch, computes the epoch root, and commits that root to a qualified timestamp and, where live, to a public chain. Neither rail is operated by Censio, and that is the entire point: an anchor we control is not an anchor.

A reader checking a record years later is checking our claim against a party with no stake in it, and two once the second rail is live.
